Strong high pressure...extending from the mid Atlantic states into the western Atlantic...will persist through the period. Meanwhile...Tropical Storm Ida...in the western Caribbean... will move north into the central Gulf of Mexico by Monday...then into the north central Gulf and eventually towards the eastern Gulf by Wednesday...weakening and becoming extratropical.
