Synopsis
With surface high pressure over the Carolina coast and Ida moving north towards the Gulf of Mexico...a tight pressure gradient will create moderate to strong winds over the area. As Ida continues to move closer...winds will continue to increase...to gale force over the far offshore waters by late Monday. The current National Hurricane Center forecast has the center of Ida continuing north...with the center moving to around 120 nm south of Destin Monday night before turning to the east...then retreating south.
